Pic Update!

Here's some pics from yesterday that I took with my good buddies Parker and Eric. These guys are two of my favorite kids to shred with! Always super positive and giving out tons of high fives, they ride canyons at least 5 days a week so next time you see them give them a shout.

All in all a super fun day, gonna try and get a sequence of these two gapping over the rainbow box on the next sunny day. Lift lines weren't too bad, see you all new years eve at the Rockin Rail jam. Starts at 4pm in the forum by the concert stage.

World Snowboard Day

We held a random jam to celebrate World snowboard day. A random jam is a super fun mini session where we hook riders up with free product for throwing down sweet tricks. We figured there is no a better way to celebrate snowboarding than hooking dudes for learning new tricks. We started the session off with some basic tricks and it progressed from there. For this being our first random jam of the season, I have to say riders are stepping it up. There were several shredders trying tricks they have never heard of and sticking it second or third try. Killing it!
I want to thank our friends at Pow Gloves. They gave us awesome prizes to stoke out shredders.  Check it out. These guys won high 5 gloves, a Pow sweat shirt and the warmest winter Pow gloves ever. Thanks Pow for spreading the love and keeping us warm.
Keep shredding hard and look out for the next Random Jam.

Pic Update: Full Park Painted Horse 12/20/08

All we were waiting for was a go from the big dogs. Thursday night we got that call and Steve and I headed up to meet Jonny and Andy and give you a full park on the painted horse run. Steve and I had it easy we were out at 2am. Our cat drivers got off the hill at 5am. Big props to the rest of the crew who came in and leveled everything early Friday morning.
Without us knowing, Friday night Andy and Jonny added another high flat box and a C to down box. We had mentioned it but didn't think it'd be easy to work it in with the limited snow pack. In my opinion the C to down rivals the gong on the fun factor. Big ups to Andy and Jonny for going above and beyond. That's what happens when the guys grooming the park actually ride the park everyday. They're just as excited to hit new features as the rest of us!

Check the pics and give us some feedback.

Update: New Features

Alright y'all. Here's the latest update on our park situation. Snow is lacking but we're doing our best to keep it fresh. Although the base isn't half of what we'd like we're still going to try and get even more features up for you weekend warriors. Soon as we get some more lifts open the snow making is back in the park and we'll have some jumps built. As for now check the pics if you wanna scope the current set up. We're going to do our best to update this blog within a day of setting up any new features so everyone will know what to expect. Sound good?

Opening Day!

We're up and rolling! 4 features can be found at the bottom of what will become our progression park. A flat box into a C box followed by a LEGIT city style down rail and one of our signature picnic tables can all be found at the canyons as we speak. Check the pics! Space is limited so bare with us until mother nature decides to cooperate. Soon as we can get some more runs open more features will be set in. Big thanks to Lou and the boys on the snowmaking staff for their continued efforts. So come on by and hand out some high 5's!

P.S. Andy Marston is back in the cat, our head park groomer with over 6 years of park grooming experience.

New Features for 2008-09

KAB rails is working hard on all of our new features. Check it out. The corrugated pipe is 6' feet tall, the wall features has rails on each side and stands 8' tall and the rails are made with this new type of metal pipe that is oval. I can't wait to set these features up to get our jib on!

Opening Date

We're scheduled to open Nov 27, if mother nature will allow. And yes, the park crew is planning on having some jibs up and ready to slide. The amount of features will be dependant on the amount of snow we have on opening day. So, all you jibbers out there keep praying, sacrificing, or do what ever you do to let the snow gods know "we are ready for some fun". Can't wait to see the tricks you've dream about all summer go down in the park this year. See you soon!

And remember high fives are free!

Working Hard

We moved the Dj hut this summer. Its new and improved with a deck and slid-able log railing. Now you can get your jib on right in front of your favorite digger crew.

Gong

Gong,
I love this feature. Hearing a successful gong puts a smile on my face. The idea for this feature came about during a digger rap session early this year. Eric Hanson said "lets build a feature where we can bonk a bell or gong or something." He is a genius. While searching for a bell we found a guy selling gongs on the web who was pretty funny. We call him and when he returned our call left a message signing the entire time. When we heard the message we figured this guy would love to have his gong bonked so we bought the gong instead of a bell. You got to love hippys. I wonder what he would think if he saw us using his gong this way?

Dj Hut

Hey Shredders,
I was playing on the computer surfing the web and found this photo of Ezra. The second I saw it my thoughts went back to the day when it all took place. We had setup this hit over the DJ hut for the Nike 0.6 photo shoot and before I had a chance to tear it down the crew came up with an idea. "Lets use the hit to put a box on the DJ hut." I gave them the go ahead, half thinking that there is no way they will be able the lift it up on top of the DJ hut, let alone make a jump and fix the landing. I figured they'll just give up after a couple of tries and that's the last I'll hear about boxes on the DJ hut. I had to go to a meeting and when I came back this is what I saw. Not only did they get it up there but were already hitting the box. And it was sick! Thats why I love the digger crew at The Canyons they come up with great ideas and make them happen!
Thanks guys you kill it.
Steve

If you haven't had the pleasure of watching the craziness that's been going down in lower respect all week you should definately stop by...it's turning into a vegas style show, news of the park is spreading like wildfire and tons of Utahs top athletes are getting their jump on. Nate Sheehan and his crew are absolutely dominating, warming up with back to back 7's and switch rodeo s. Photographer Jay Dutton was there to capture a few shots and nice enough to send some our way for your viewing pleasure. Also check our Park groomer Dougy boosting the carpet QP, a shack jump for a specialty photo shoot provided further entertainment today as kids got wicked. You pickin up what these guys are throwin down?
