At the end of April, we were host to the Nitro Team including: Ben Bilocq, Eero Ettala, Markus Keller, Marc Swoboda, Bryan Fox (alternate).
Filmmakers: Rasmus Tikkanen and Pirmin Juffinger
Steve Duke and the terrain park crew plus the terrain park cat drivers worked literally 20 hours a day putting together some of the most ridiculous features I've ever feasted my eyes on. Now it's your turn to check out the results. What do you guys think?!

Transworld Team Shoot Out Teaser is Here!!!
At the end of April, our terrain park crew and cat drivers were working overtime to bring you some of the sickest features our crew has ever worked on. Crazy amounts of late snow made their mission even more difficult to complete. That mission-competing in the TransWorld Team Shoot Out in partnership with Nitro.
The Shoot Out Teaser was just released, check it out here and let us know what you think: http://snowboarding.transworld.net/

Grete Elliasen hits 31 feet out of hip jump!
April 9, 2010- Despite unprecedented spring snow storms, including 22 inches of snow on jump day, The Canyon’s park crew shoveled, cut and shaped more than 45 thousand yards of snow to create the largest snow terrain park feature ever built in Utah. Why you ask? So Grete Eliassen, an accomplished free skier, could achieve a monumental personal goal and truly change the game in women’s skiing. Yesterday, Eliassen clicked into her skis, reached speeds of 60 miles an hour downhill, hit the custom 30 foot “hip” feature and soared more than 31 feet in the air. No woman has ever come close to reaching this height on skis.
“There is no other experience in the world that feels even close to what I feel when I am jumping. Having such a large feature built just for me was a super humbling experience. With my whole crew, family and friends watching it was really an incredible day. It is a moment in my life I will remember forever,” said Eliassen.
In addition to actively progressing the sport, Eliassen is working on a film project. The ski movie, Say My Name, a two-year venture embarked on with longtime ski/snowboard photographer Stan Evans, is slated for release in Fall 2010. Look forward to catching Grete and crew skiing all the best spots on the planet.

Red Bull 1976 Games
Working for Red Bull Energy Drink has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and occasionally I get to participate in really fun events, like last Saturday's Red Bull 1976 Games, held at The Canyons Resort in Park City, UT. I showed up early to help my boss and the infrastructure team get the gates and the venue fully setup, then took a few turns with my longtime friend Blake Stephenson. The event started at about noon, and 863 images later, it was over. The premise of the contest is to wear retro gear to celebrate the Olympics that should have been. In 1976, Denver, CO was awarded the winter Olympic games, but due to political maneuvering, the games were shifted to Austria, so we at Red Bull decided that it was high time that 1976 got the glory it deserves. The contest consisted of a Snowbladecross race, and an old school air contest, where teams were judged based on skill, showmanship, and overall team mojo. I had so much fun taking pictures, the time just flew by, and I came away with about 80 really solid images. Here's a few of my favorites of the bunch. Enjoy.
Airing through the gap
Jason Hindman on an all out sprint to the finish line
Lindsay Jacobellis should take some pointers from this homie
I think the X-Games would be better-off if it were like this.
In high-speed races like this, milliseconds count, so diving across the finish line was a commonly utilized tactic in order to shave a little time off your score.
Those of us who ride the terrain parks at either Park City or The Canyons are familiar with ski trains hitting jumps, but never quite like this.
Third place. The Shred Dogs of War
2nd place. Masterbladers? I think?
The defending champs: The Cream Team
Podium placement is something to truly be proud of.
